It’s no secret that Disney World is a popular vacation spot. Every year the resort has about 48 million guests visit the parks from all over the world.ย The Magic Kingdom is by far the most popular park on property and has an average of 20.8 million guests per year. With numbers like that its easy to see how guests can easily become overwhelmed at the parks. So to help people avoid the chaos that is the Magic Kingdom,ย I have compiled a list of places that are often away from the crowds where you can cool off and escape from the hustle and bustle of the park.

The Hub Grass

Located right in front of Cinderella castle, on either side of Main Street, The Hub Grass is a popular destination for those who just want to relax a bit at the Magic Kingdom. This is the perfect location if you just want to people watch and enjoy your drink or snack in the middle of the day. However, the Hub does get crowded during parade time and is sectioned off for Happily Ever After FASTPASS holders.
2. The People Mover
Anotherย prime destination is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover. This attraction is located in Tomorrowland and it takes guests on a scenic view of Tomorrowland in its “Highway in the sky”. This is my favorite ride in the park because it usually has little-to-no wait time, it gives off a nice breeze when you are riding around, and its the perfect place to have snack that you packed in your bag and just relax.
ย 3. Country Bear Jamboree
A family favorite attraction, The Country Bear Jamboree is a nice, air-condition 16-minute show that guests can enjoy while trying to escape the crowds and heat. There is a show every 20 min and there is usually no line to get in, you just have to wait however for the next show to begin.
4. Gastons Tavern
If you like antlers in all of your decorating this is the perfect spot for you. This quick service snack location is a great spot to come for a quick bite and a cool drink and is perfect for Beauty and the Beast fans. It located in the new part of Fantasyland right next to Be Our Guest restaurant and Ariel’s Undersea Adventure ride! I came around 11am before my shift to sit down and have a LeFou’s Brew before work and the place was nearly empty. I can’t attest to when this area gets crowded but I would suggest early morning or mid-afternoon.
5. Main Street Train Station
Located at the front of the park, the Main Street USA Train Station is a wonderful place to escape the sun by basking in its shade. The downstairs part of the station offers a nice shady spot for you to tuck into if you are avoiding them heat or if you need a shady spot for the Festival of Fantasy parade. The upstairs part of the station has benches where you can look out to the street and people watch out onto the park below. When you are done you can also hop aboard one of the Walt Disney World Railroad trains that meet up there and take a scenic trip around the Magic Kingdom!
