After months of waiting, I finally made it!

After a very busy week of moving in, getting settled, and exploring my surroundings I’ve compiled a snapshot of my first week here.
Day 1: Move in & Casting (1/22)
We were given our itineraries for our first week in Florida a week prior to moving in. Some information that was provided in our itinerary included our work location, complex, and our first week CP schedulesย such as check-in, casting, housing info session, and our traditions date and time. I was excited to see on my itinerary that I finally got to find out where my work location would be. To my surprise, I found out that I would be working on Main Street USA at the Magic Kingdom!
Location: Tony’s Town Square Restaraunt
Complex: Patterson Court (3 bedroom/6 person)
Check-in: 11:45 am
Traditions: 8:45am Friday (Group A)
Later that day I also had to go to the casting building, located across from Disney Springs, in order to fill out some paperwork and to get fingerprinted. This was mainly done so then Disney knows that we are properly documented for employment and so that we could start our orientation seminars and training for the following week promptly. This day consisted of just getting settled, going to casting, getting groceries, and getting to know my roommates!
Day 2: Universal (1/23)
Day 2 was pretty chill for most of the day with my roommates and I getting our apartment organized and decorated, as well as figuring out where stuff was in relation to our complex. Later at night we headed to Universal to get Annual Passes for the theme park and we spent the last hour of the parks opening going on rides (that we walked right on), which included the Incredible Hulk Coaster, The Mummy, and Harry Potter and the Escape to Gringotts.
Day 3: Housing Welcome Session & Disney Springs Scavenger Hunt (1/24)
I didn’t have anything until later in the afternoon, so I spent the morning doing laundry and getting my clothes ready for my orientation seminars in the next couple days. Around 3pm I headed to the Commons complex where I was scheduled for my Disney Housing session which consisted of an hour and a half long presentation from the housing team that went over the rules and regulations of the Disney College Program and Housing. After all my roommates finished their housing seminar, we headed to Disney Springs where we ate at Deluxe Burger (which we got all this for $10 thanks to coupons given to us at Casting)
After eating, we headed towards the Cirque du Soleil tent where we checked in for our Cast Member Scavenger hunt. This event was put on by an organization called Off the Cuff which hosts events created by Cast Members for Cast Members.
Day 4: Universal & Housing Welcome Event (1/25)

Most of Day 4 was spent park hopping between Universal & Islands of Adventure! Our party consisted of all my roommates (Above: Lydia, Quinn, Morgan, Cheyenne, Summer, and Me) and my friend Caroline who lives in the DCP Commons complex down the street from ours. It was moderately crowded at the park, mainly because it was the day before the Harry Potter weekend celebration was to occur at Universal. According to one of the merchandise cashiers I talked to, some of the cast from the Harry Potter movies that was scheduled to appear at the panel the following day were at the parks for the day before the crowds came in!
Around 5pm we headed back to the complex in order to get ready for the Housing Welcome Event that was to be put on by the DCP Housing team. The theme was Second Star to the Right (Peter Pan) and was put on at the Chatham Complex, which is right across the street from our complex.ย At the event, there were Character Meet & Greets (Peter Pan & Wendy, and Captain Hook & Smee), a photo booth, free food, photo props, a DJ, games, and a scavenger hunt.

Enjoy your program! ๐โจ I lived at Patterson too, it’s the best complex. ๐ Except for the walk to the busses. But you’ll build up so much stamina!
