I LEAVE FOR FLORIDA TOMORROW!

I’m ecstatic that the day has finally come for me to pack up and get down to the sunshine state! I’ve spent the past 2 weeks anxiously trying to gather stuff up for my upcoming road trip and trying to condense everything into a reasonable amount of baggage. I’m fortunate enough that I’m catching a ride down with my Aunt who has a winter home in Tampa but I’m also flying back to Michigan in August so space was an obstacle I needed to consider. Currently, I only have 1 standard suitcase, a carry-on suitcase, a laundry bucket with miscellaneous items, my backpack, and then a weekender that has my clothes for the next 2 weeks in it.
The #1 reason why I was able to pack everything I did into a limited amount of luggage was because I was able to condense my clothes, bedding, towels, and such into SPACE BAGS! We found my bags (off-brand) at TJ Maxx and they came in a 12 pack combo pack that had all different sizes for me to fit items. I highly recommend getting these because they are easy to use and the different sizes help with the items I had packed.

Below I have attached a list of items that I personally packed for my Spring program for those of you who still need an idea of what to pack.

The biggest thing I’ve heard from DCP alum is to not pack your entire wardrobe because you will be spending a majority of your time in your work uniform. However, a girl needs to have options so I packed a little more than I should’ve. Some things I added that are a bit more than necessary though are extra dress clothes. I will be doing a Disney Education seminar for 4 weeks in the spring and I also plan on doing a lot of networking and attending Disney education panels throughout the course of my program so I wanted a variety of things to choose from.

My advice to anyone who still needs to pack for the program is to look at the items in question and if you wear it all the time and you know you will wear it/use it a bunch pack it! On that note, don’t bring access of items unless you know you will wear them all constantly. For example, I wear baseball hats all the time and I have about a dozen or so, but I narrowed it down to my 4 favorites because I doubt that I would get to them all.
So that is my packing list and advice! Good luck to all of you DCP-ers that still need to undertake this feat! See you later Michigan, Hello Mickey
